‘K.G.F: Chapter 2’ Becomes The 2nd Highest Grossing Hindi Film, Surpasses ‘Dangal’

Yash’s KGF: Chapter 2 has added another feather to its cap. The Hindi version of the film has zoomed past Aamir Khan’s Dangal lifetime collection. KGF: Chapter 2 collected a whopping Rs 391 crore in 21 days and is now the second highest-grossing Hindi film after SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali: The Conclusion. Soon, KGF 2 Hindi will cross the Rs 400 crore-mark in India.

Directed by Prashanth Neel, KGF: Chapter 2 was released in theatres on April 14 in five languages. The film opened to overwhelming reviews and is now marching towards Rs 1100 crore worldwide.

In just 21 days, the Hindi version of KGF: Chapter 2 has zoomed past Aamir Khan’s Dangal lifetime collection. So far, the film has raked in Rs 391 crore in India and is still going strong.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh confirmed the news and wrote, “BIGGG NEWS… #KGF2 surpasses #Dangal *lifetime biz*… NOW, 2ND HIGHEST GROSSING *HINDI* FILM… Glorious march towards ? 400 cr begins… [Week 3] Fri 4.25 cr, Sat 7.25 cr, Sun 9.27 cr, Mon 3.75 cr, Tue 9.57 cr, Wed 8.75 cr. Total: Rs 391.65 cr. #India biz. #Hindi (sic).”

KGF: Chapter 2 features Yash, Sanjay Dutt, Raveena Tandon and Srinidhi Shetty in lead roles. The film follows the story of Rocky who takes over Kolar Gold Fields and becomes the saviour of the people working in the gold mine.

Aamir Khan’s Dangal is a biopic based on the Phogat sisters. Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra played the roles of Geeta Phogat and Babita Phogat in the superhit film.
