Yash-starrer KGF:Chapter 2 is doing exceptionally well at the box office. Directed by Prashanth Neel, the film crossed Rs 900 crore at the box office in just 12 days. And, it shows no signs of stopping now! KGF 2 is all set to enter the Rs 1000-crore club now. It has also surpassed the records of Thalapathy Vijay’s Beast and Allu Arjun’s Pushpa: The Rise. On Day 15, KGF: Chapter 2 managed to earn a total of Rs 943.82 crore worldwide.
KGF: Chapter 2 hit the theatres on April 14. Ever since, it has been going strong at the box office, and it even overpowered other films that released around the same time. KGF 2, produced by Hombale Films, was released in five languages after getting postponed multiple times due to the Covid-19 pandemic. According to trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan, KGF: Chapter 2 earned Rs 17.15 crore on Day 15, taking the total box office collection to Rs 943.82 crore worldwide. Manobala’s tweet read, “#KGFChapter2 WW Box Office Week 1 – 720.31 cr Week 2 Day 1 – 30.18 cr Day 2 – 26.09 cr Day 3 – 42.15 cr Day 4 – 64.83 cr Day 5 – 23.74 cr Day 6 – 19.37 cr Day 7 – 17.15 cr Total – 943.82 cr. Only the SECOND movie to achieve 940 cr+ in 2 weeks (sic).”
Directed by Prashanth Neel, KGF traces the rise and fall of Rocky, played by Yash. The post-credits scene of KGF: Chapter 2 hinted at a sequel to the film. The second part features Yash, Sanjay Dutt, Raveena Tandon and Srinidhi Shetty in lead roles. The film also saw Malavika Avinash, Prakash Raj, Eswari Rao and Saran in supporting roles.
