Ingredients

1/3 cup flax seeds

2 cups water

½ tsp honey

½ tsp shea butter

Glass container

Method

  1. Place the water and flax seeds in pot and bring it to boil while stirring continuously with a wooden spoon.
  2. Once it starts to form a watery gel like consistency, immediately turn the heat off.
  3. Separate the seeds from the gel with a strainer over a glass bowl.
  4. Let the extracted gel cool for about 20 minutes.
  5. Next, stir in the honey and shea butter.
  6. Store it in a glass container and refrigerate it. 
  7. Apply this gel on wet hair and scrunch. Let it air dry.

Okra Hair Gel

5 pods okra

2 cups water

2 tbsp grapeseed oil

10 drops vitamin E oil

Glass container

Method

  1. Rinse the okra and slice them up into small pieces.
  2. Place the okra pieces and water in a small pot and boil it for 15 minutes on medium heat.
  3. Turn off the heat after 15 minutes and strain the okra with a cheesecloth into a glass bowl. Add the grapeseed oil and vitamin E oil to the okra gel and stir well.
  4. Transfer the final gel to a glass container and refrigerate it.
  5. Apply on wet hair and scrunch, Let it air dry.
