Kailas Menon Opens Up On The Telugu Remake Of ‘Theevandi’

Actor Tovino Thomas is on cloud nine with all the praises that he got from playing the ‘Nadan- Superhero’ in his recently released movie ‘Minnal Murali’ directed by Basil Joseph. Previously there have been talks on the Telugu remake of Tovino Thomas’s film ‘Theevandi’ but there hasn’t been any official confirmation yet. The reports said that the Telugu remake will be titled ‘Pogabandi’ and the main role which was originally played by actor Tovino Thomas will be reprised by the Telugu actor Surya Tej. The music of the original film ‘Theevandi’ was composed by the most renowned composer Kailas Menon and he will be composing music for the Telugu remake too. Recently in an interview, Kailas Menon opened up on the Telugu remake of ‘Theevandi’.

When asked about the future projects of the ‘Jeevamshamayi’ fame Kailas Menon, he replied: “ I have several upcoming projects in the pipeline that includes Tovino- Keerthy Suresh’s ‘Vaashi’, Asif Ali starrer ‘Kothth’, Soubin Shahir’s ‘Kallan D’ Souza’, ‘ Member Rameshan 9am Ward’, etc. Along with that, I am composing background score and music for the Telugu remake of ‘Theevandi’”. Further, he added by saying that three of the songs in the Telugu remake of ‘Theevandi’ will be the same rehash from the original movie, and the rest of the two songs will be newly composed ones. He also said: “ The trending song ‘Jeevamshamayi’ will be used in the remake with changes in its lyrics.”

The original movie ‘Theevandi’, starring Tovino Thomas and Samyuktha Menon was directed by Fellini T.P and the script was penned down by Vini Vishwa Lal. The film was a humongous hit during the time and the composer Kailas Menon got wide appreciation from the audience for the song ‘Jeevamshamayi’ and several other songs in the movie went straight to the hit charts.
