Yami Gautam On Her Journey In Industry, Says She Is Her Own Godfather

Yami Gautam recently spoke about not having a Godfather in the industry and making it on her own.

In an interview with a news portal, Yami reportedly said that she will be completing a decade in Bollywood next year and she has a better sense of things now. She recalled making her big Bollywood debut on her own and not having anyone to guide her. The actress added that the Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar starrer ‘Bala’ was the turning point in her career. Yami revealed that people told Amar Kaushik, the director of the film, that they didn’t picture me in that role, but it took that one script to change things.

Elaborating further about her journey in the industry so far, Yami added that she is her own Godfather. She also added that she had her family who has been a support system in her life and have kept her sane. According to her, one can never fully understand the film industry. People are always offering career advice to you. The actress added that she had to decide if she personally connected with those ideas. She had to push herself to not fall into this trap and stay focused on finding good roles.

Yami also spoke about the constant media scrutiny and according to her it doesn’t make matters easy. According to her, untrue things are written about you and you have to decide if you want to jump in the fish market and become the noise. You have to condition yourself.

Meanwhile, on the work front, she will next be seen in ‘Bhoot Police’ co-starring Saif Ali Khan, Arjun Kapoor and Jacqueline Fernandez in lead roles. The movie will be releasing on an OTT platform.

Apart from this, she will also be seen in ‘Dasvi’ co-starring Abhishek Bachchan and Nimrat Kaur.
