Ingredients
Onion Whole – 6 nos
Mustard oil – 3 tbsp
Garlic, chopped – ½ tsp
Black salt – 1 tbsp
Salt – to taste
Red chili powder – 1 tbsp
Chaat masala – ¾ tbsp
Lemon juice – 3 tbsp
Spring onions chopped – a handful

Steps:
1. Take an onion and slice it in half from the center, without peeling it. Heat up a flat pan and put the onions with the sliced part on the pan and press it down well. The peel of the onion helps it to hold it together while grilling. Grill it till there are grill marks on the bottom, now flip it over and cook the other side.
Once the grilling is done, take the onions out in a bowl. Cover this bowl with a plate for about 5 to 10 mins for the onions to get soft. Till it rests, you can make the dressing.
2. For the dressing, put mustard oil in an empty bowl and add some chopped garlic. Add salt to the dressing, black salt, Kashmiri chili powder, chaat masala, and lemon juice. Whisk the sauce well.
3. Take the onions out of the bowl on a chopping board, and remove the root and the top end along with the outer or topmost skin of the onion. Now you can easily separate each layer of the onions easily.
Once the layers of onions have separated, pour the dressing over the layers of onions, along with that, add some chopped spring onion and gently mix it. You can now plate it.
