‘Pushpa: The Rise’ Box Office Collection Day 10

Allu Arjun’s Pushpa: The Rise is dominating the box office in its second week as well. The film is inching closer to Rs 200 crore at the box office worldwide. Despite competition from Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Malayalam films, Pushpa has still managed to lure audiences to theatres. The film is expected to earn Rs 200 crore worldwide by the end of the second week.

Pushpa: The Rise hit the theatres on December 17 in five languages, namely, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi. Ahead of the film’s release, Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna and director Sukumar promoted the film in multiple cities across India.

Many pointed out that the Pushpa team did not extensively promote the film apart from having one or two press meets. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh, in his tweet, wrote that Pushpa has shattered a popular myth that extensive promotions could attract more people to cinemas.

He wrote, “#Pushpa shatters the myth that extensive + expensive *pre-release* promotions is responsible for attracting audiences to cinemas Eventually, the content does the talking when a film releases Let’s not forget, content is KING and the audiences are KING MAKERS. #PushpaHindi (sic).”

Trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan took to Twitter to reveal that Pushpa: The Rise has collected Rs 179.14 crore in nine days.

Pushpa: The Rise was earlier slated to release on Christmas. However, the makers pushed the film’s release ahead by a week to avoid a clash with Ranveer Singh’s 83, directed by Kabir Khan.

Despite competition from Ranveer Singh’s 83 and Nani-Sai Pallavi’s Shyam Singha Roy, Pushpa is performing exceptionally well across the globe. Tamil films Rocky and Writer are also receiving overwhelming reviews from critics and the audience alike, and are putting up a tough fight.
