Puducherry, Aug 20: Puducherry Police Department has constituted a minority cell, to comply with the recommendation of the National Commission for Minorities that a Minority Cell in the state police headquarters, in all police stations and in all the districts has to be set up.
An order from the police department on Friday said, the minority cell comprises of six police personnel –three each from Police unit and Puducherry Armed police.
The Minority Cell will function under the direct supervision of SSP (headquarters) and will have its jurisdiction across the UT of Puducherry.
