Nitish asks officials to place achievements of Health sector on Social Media

Patna, Aug 10: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday said there has been vast improvement in health sector in the last 15 years and achievements of the government on this

front should be placed on social media to make aware people what was the condition before

the year 2005 and what was now following sustained efforts of the government to effect a

qualitative change.

Mr Kumar, while addressing a function organised to mark online launching and laying of

foundation stones of various projects of Health department here, said that treatment facilities

in government hospitals was dismal in Bihar before his government was voted to power in

the year 2005.

Following sustained efforts of the government, scenario had improved considerably in last

15 years, he added.

Chief Minister said that achievement of the government in health sector should be placed on

social media to make aware people what was the condition before 2005 and change in scenario following sustained efforts of the government in last 15 years.

A survey was carried out in the year 2006 which revealed the fact that on an average only 39

patients were visiting Primary Health Centre in a month which increased to 10,000 after

improvement in treatment facilities there, he added.

Mr Kumar said that his government had spent altogether Rs 10,000 Crores to provide assistance

to people during Corona pandemic which started leaving its effect in March last year.

State government had had paid Rs 4 lakhs to family members of those died due to Corona

infection, he added.

Even if a person of Bihar died outside state due to Corona infection, family members would be

paid Rs 4 lakhs as compensation, Mr Kumar added.
