Navya Nair Speaks About How Manju Warrier’s Comeback Has Inspired Her

Actress Navya Nair is all set to make a strong comeback into Malayalam movies, with the upcoming release ‘Oruthee’. Directed by VK Prakash, the film features Navya Nair in the lead role. Recently, during an interview with a news channel, the actress spoke about how Manju Warrier’s comeback has inspired her.

When the interviewer asked Navya Nair if the Manju Warrier has been an inspiration for her comeback, the ‘Nandanam’ actress said, “Yes, Manju chechi has always been an inspiration. She is the best!” Navya Nair shared that Manju Warrier has been a huge inspiration in terms of career and overall. Navya Nair added that since there aren’t that many instances of women coming back to movies, especially after marriage, and a long break, Manju Warrier’s comeback added to her confidence. “The kind of positivity that audience gave when Manju Warrier made a comeback was undoubtedly inspiring. The biggest fear when you are making a second innings is whether the audience will love you the way they used to,” she added.

During the conversation, Navya Nair also spoke about how during the initial days she was skeptical if everything would have a desirable result or not. Navya Nair shared that during the initial days of the shoot of ‘Oruthee’, she even asked the makers if they could go for wide shots, and the scene where there were no dialogues, “It had been a while since I faced the camera, and I wasn’t even sure if I remember acting anymore or not!”

Contrary to what she said in the interview, the teasers of ‘Oruthee’ suggest that Navya Nair hasn’t lost her charm or acting chops, though she was away from the limelight.

Helmed by VK Prakash, ‘Oruthee’ will feature Navya Nair as a married woman, who works as a boat conductor. The film is slated for release on March 18.
