Aurangabad, Aug 5: The Marathwada region of Maharashtra recorded 370 new Covid-19 cases and six deaths during the past 24 hours, health authorities informed.
Details from all the district headquarters collected by UNI show that out of the eight districts of the region, Beed district was the worst-affected as it recorded 181 new cases and 3 deaths, followed by Osmanabad which had 93 cases and one death, Aurangabad had 42 cases and single death, Jalna had 15 new cases and single death and Nanded recorded 6 cases. Meanwhile, Parbhani and Hingoli not recorded any new positive case.
Meanwhile, during the past 24 hours, 6,126 fresh cases of COVID-19 were recorded across the state, taking the total number of infections to 63,27,194.
The state also registered 90 more deaths, taking the death toll to 1,33,470.
Meanwhile, 74,36 patients also recovered in the state, pushing the total number of recoveries to 61,17,560.
The state’s recovery rate currently stands at 96.66 per cent while the fatality rate is 2.1 per cent.
At present, there are 72,810 active cases across the state undergoing treatment at different COVID-19 centres and hospitals, added the health authorities.
