Nanded, Maharashtra (India) : The Maratha Kranti Morcha on Thursday announced to hold a procession, in favour of the Maratha quota, here on August 20 (Friday).
To be led by MP Chhatrapati Sambhajiraje Bhosle, the agitation has been jointly organised by several Maratha outfits, seeking to make quota and other related demands a reality.
The mute procession will start from the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj statue and will go all the way to the Collectorate, the Morcha stated, adding that a huge number of agitators are expected to join the march.
Besides filing a curative petition against the Supreme Court’s anti-quota order, the other prominent demands include clarification of the state government’s stance on the long-pending issue and building of hostels for the community students in each district of the state.
The strengthening of the SARTHI and the Annasaheb Patil Financial Development Corporation is also being sought, the Morcha added.
Meanwhile, the Traffic Police has appealed to commuters to travel on alternate routes so as to avoid traffic snarls during the march.
