Legendary Malayalam actor Nedumudi Venu breathed his last on Monday (Oct 12) afternoon, leaving the entertainment industry and the movie buffs devastated. The thespian’s demise has left an unparalleled void in M-Town and actress Mamta Mohandas has shared an anecdote and paid tributes to the late actor.
Mamta recalled that she had the opportunity to work with Nedumudi Venu in her debut movie

‘Mayookham’. The actress also shared that two days back she had sung the song ‘Antholanam’ from the 1992 film ‘Sargam’ and all she could see in her mind was Nedumudi Venu’s face. Nedumudi Venu played the role of a Bhagavathar, a musical genius in ‘Sargam’.

“Another gem lost… Just 2 days ago I sang the song ‘ആന്തോളനം’ from my all time favorite Malayalam movie സർഗം to my family friends over a dinner and the only face I had in mind at that moment was yours Venuchetta. Being a true lover of classic Carnatic music, the characters in most of the movies that you did in the mid 80s and 90s, especially HH Abdulla.. have travelled so deep into my heart that you were the best singing actor we had and Needless to say one of the most remarkable and finest character artists we had in cinema. I had the privilege of having the opportunity to work with you (coincidentally) in my very first movie Mayookham you under hariharan sir’s direction and in a few movies thereafter. I consider this a real honor and I’m thankful for having the chance to be in the generation of actors who could share a few moments of with you and all the off-camera times spent with you with great conversations and music will never be forgotten. We will miss you,” Mamta Mohandas penned.
