Malayalam Actor Sreenivasan Put On Ventilator Support

Popular actor, director and screenwriter Sreenivasan was put on ventilator support on Wednesday (April 6). The actor, who predominantly works in the Malayalam film industry, underwent bypass surgery to clear blocked arteries. However, his health condition worsened and he was put on a ventilator at a private hospital in Ernakulam, Kerala.

Sreenivasan is a veteran actor who is known for playing comedy and character roles in Malayalam and Tamil films. On March 30, he was admitted to Apollo Adlux Hospital after complaining of heart issues. Reportedly, he had three blocks in blood vessels.

Doctors who treated Sreenivasan performed bypass surgery on the actor. When he was under observation in the Intensive Care Unit, his oxygen levels dropped, after which he was put on ventilator support.

According to the latest report, Sreenivasan is responding well to the treatment. He is reportedly stable now.

Sreenivasan was born on April 6, 1956 in Kerala. He is an actor, screenwriter, director, dubbing artist and producer. He has acted in over 225 films in his long career. He wrote screenplays for films such as Odaruthammava Aalariyam, Gandhinagar 2nd Stret, Varavelpu, Sandesam, Oru Maravathoor kanavu, Midhunam and Njan Prakashan. He won the National Film Award for Best Film on Other Social Issues.
