Lakshmi Manchu Learns Kalaripayattu For ‘Monster’

Lakshmi Manchu who has roped in to play the leading lady in Mohanlal starrer ‘Monster’ is now taking martial arts training. The actress is taking lessons in Kalaripayattu, the martial art and fighting style that originated from Kerala, for the upcoming film.

Lakshmi Manchu was thrilled that she is getting to learn something new and shared a glimpse from her training session.

“The thrill of learning something new! ???? Kalaripayattu, the Indian martial art and fighting style that originated in modern-day Kerala. #Kalaripayattu has been recorded as early as 300 BCE. It was also mentioned in the Vadakkan Pattukal ballads written about the Chekavar from the Malabar region of Kerala. For #Monster I have been closely working day n night with @krishnadasvallabhatta garu and his daughter @_kavya_.k_nair_ to learn this art. The second schedule of the film has reportedly begun in Kochi, and the actress also kept her fans posted with a BTS video. Lakshmi Manchu is making her debut in Malayalam with ‘Monster’, and seems like she has already fallen in love with Kerala. The actress is a foodie and she has been exploring Kerala cuisine during her time in God’s own country.

Meanwhile, ‘Monster’ marks Mohanlal’s reunion with the ‘Pulimurugan’ team as director Vysakh and scenarist Udaykrishnan is chairing the upcoming project.
