P Jayachandran, the playback singer whom we Malayalis fondly call ‘Bhava Gayakan’ was honored by the JC Daniel Award for the year 2020 for his spellbinding music contributions to the film industry. He has sung over 10,000 songs in various languages such as Kannada, Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, and Malayalam. Recently the legendary singer K.S Chithra took to her Instagram handle to praise the veteran on his award win. Sharing the appreciation post K.S Chithra wrote: “ Heartiest Congratulations to Shri P Jayachandran chettan on winning the JC Daniel Award.”

And coming to his works in the Tamil industry, he was honored with four Tamil Nadu State Awards. P Jayachandran has collaborated with several iconic music composers such as Shyam, AR Rahman, K Raghavan, G Devarajan, MS Baburaj, MM Keeravani, etc. Some of his popular songs in Malayalam include ‘Chandanathil Kadanjeduthoru’, ‘Ithaloornnu Veena’, ‘Manjalayil Mungi Thorthi’ etc.
