Indian women’s hockey team members meet Haryana Home Minister

Chandigarh, Aug 11: Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij met the members of the Indian women’s hockey team at his office on Wednesday.
Mr Vij welcomed women players, including team captain Rani Rampal, Monica, Nisha, Navneet Kaur, Navjot Kaur, Uday, Sharmila and Neha, with shawls and sweets.
On this occasion, Mr Vij said that in sports one team wins and the other losses, it does not matter in the game, what matters is how strongly the player has played.
He said that these hockey players displayed their stamina, technique, scientific sense in the matches. He said that they could not win the match but they have done the work of uniting the whole country.
The Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi also evinced interest in the game of hockey and also encouraged a player who had got injured during the match. He said that Prime Minister values sports and that is why he started ‘Khelo India’ programme so that good players can be prepared.
Expressing his gratitude to Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, he said, “I also express my gratitude to the Chief Minister who has announced Rs 50 lakh each to these hockey players.”
