Puducherry, Aug 23: Former Lok Sabha member from Puducherry Prof M Ramadass on Monday said that it is heartening to learn that JIPMER has been chosen as one among 100 best medical colleges of the world.
In a statement here, Ramadass said CEO World Magazine has reported that based on Global Ranking criteria 100 best medical colleges of the world have been selected for the year 2021 among which six Indian medical colleges also find an honourable place.
JIPMER, securing 78.86 credit, occupies 59th position in the 100 best medical colleges of the world. AIIMS Delhi, Armed Forces Medical College Pune, CMC Vellore, Medical College Chennai and IMS BHU Varanasi are the other best colleges chosen from India. JIPMER occupies 4th position among the six colleges of India.
Undoubtedly, this unique feat of JIPMER is in recognition of the relentless pursuit of highest standards of quality in medical education and curative services rendered by the professors, doctors, officers and all employees of this 57-year-old institution of Puducherry. It has already carved out a niche in the medical education map of South Asia and this world image adds one more fine feather to its cap. This status makes the transition of JIPMER from a national to an International institution, Ramadass said.
It is a moment of joy, happiness and pride for every Puducherian that an institution from Puducherry attains a glorious global status among the comity of medical colleges of the world, Ramadass said and congratulated the director and entire team of Jipmer.
