Google Doodle Honours Sivaji Ganesan On His 93rd Birthday

October 1 marks the 93rd birthday of actor Sivaji Ganesan, and the legend has been honoured by Google with its famous doodle. Bangalore-based artist Noopur Rajesh Choksi has created this doodle, which features three images of the icon.

Sivaji’s grandson and actor Vikram Prabhu shared his delight at the tribute to his grandfather, who is called the Nadigar Thilagam in Kollywood. “Here is the #Googledoodle honouring the Legend #SivajiGanesan on his 93rd birthday. Appreciate the people from Google India & their guest artist Noopur Rajesh Choksi for the doodle art. Another proud moment! Love him and miss him more every year!” he posted on his social media page.

Sivaji Ganesan is considered the benchmark for acting in Tamil cinema. He made his debut in the 1952 Tamil film Parasakthi and instantly became a rage for his phenomenal acting talents. In his five-dace-old career, and acted in 288 films in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi.

The first Indian actor to receive the Chevalier of the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres, and Best Actor award in an international film festival (the Afro-Asian Film Festival in Cairo, Egypt in 1960), he was recognised by the Indian government with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, the highest honour for films in India.
