Actor Dhanush had officially announced yesterday that his next film is with Telugu director, Venky Atluri of ‘Tholi Prema’ fame. Bankrolled by S Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya of Sithara Entertainments, the Tamil-Telugu bilingual has been titled ‘Vaathi’ in Tamil and ‘Sir’ in Telugu.
The film is said to be an ambitious journey of a common man, which has Dhanush playing a role of college teacher. Though the rest of the cast is yet to be announced, it is said that the shooting for the film is being planned to commence soon. While GV Prakash has been roped in to compose music for the film, the technical team includes Dinesh Krishnan handling the cinematography and Navin Nooli in-charge of editing.
The film is said to be a period social drama that revolves around the education mafia and highlights one young man’s fight against the privatisation of education. The song ‘Vaathi Coming’ in Anirudh’s music in Vijay-starrer ‘Master’ was a huge hit and looks likes it Dhanush’s turn to become a teach this time around and title seems to be a catchy one too.
