After Jagame Thandhiram and Atrangi Re, Dhanush’s upcoming film, Maaran will also release on an OTT platform, skipping theatrical release. As reported earlier, the film will premiere directly on Disney+ Hotstar on March 11. Taking to social media, the official Twitter handle of the OTT platform revealed the streaming time of Maaran. They also released a new poster featuring Dhanush.
Directed by Karthick Naren, Maaran was supposed to release in theatres. Due to the novel coronavirus pandemic and continuous releases of films, Sathya Jyothi Films, the production house, opted for an OTT release.
On March 10, the makers of Maaran announced that the film will be available for streaming at 5 pm tomorrow, March 11. Along with the announcement, the official Twitter handle of Disney+ Hotstar shared a stunning poster featuring Dhanush. They wrote, “#Maaran – Streaming from 5 pm, Tomorrow (sic).”

Produced by Sathya Jyothi Films, Maaran is a political action thriller directed by Karthick Naren. Malavika Mohanan, Samuthirakani, Smruthi Venkat, Ramki, Jayaprakash, Aadukalam Naren, Bose Venkat, Mahendran and Ameer form the supporting cast. Cinematographer Vivekanand Santhosham, editor GK Prasanna and music director GV Prakash Kumar are part of the technical crew.
