Bhumi Pednekar To Play Female Lead In Ali Abbas Zafar’s Next?

Actress Bhumi Pednekar is likely to play the female lead in Ali Abbas Zafar’s film that has Shahid Kapoor as the main lead. Rumours about her being part of the film began after she was spotted outside Ali Abbas Zafar’s office a few days ago. An industry source revealed, “Bhumi could be finalised soon. The makers are keen on casting her because she hasn’t worked with Shahid before, so their pairing will definitely be a fresh casting coup.”

The film is a remake of a foreign film, which is a thriller. The movie will be shot in Abu Dhabi later this year. Bhumi has just wrapped up the shoot of her film ‘Rakshabandhan’ she also has ‘Badhai Do’ which is also canned and then there’s ‘Mr. Lele’ with Vicky Kaushal, too. Shahid Kapoor too has finished the shooting of his OTT film ‘Operation Cactus’ and has ‘Jersey’ ready for release.

Ali Abbas Zafar’s last offering was ‘Tandav’ starring Saif Ali Khan, which ran into trouble with political parties. There were allegations that the makers had hurt the religious sentiments of a certain community and the OTT platform was forced to delete objectionable scenes.

After the release of his film ‘Bharat’ starring Salman Khan, Ali Abbas Zafar turned producer with ‘Khaali Peeli’. He is also working on the ‘Mr India’ trilogy that will be produced by Zee.
