‘Avatar 3’ Could Be Last Film If ‘The Way Of Water’ Sequel Underperforms

Washington [US]: Hollywood filmmaker James Cameron can be paying close attention to the box workplace results of ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ as the sci-fi movie releases in theatres this December.

According to Deadline, Cameron has stated that the durability of the ‘Avatar’ film franchise will depend on the overall performance of the imminent sequel. “The market can be telling us we’re carried out in 3 months, or we are probably semi-completed, that means: ‘OK, allow’s complete the tale within movie three, and not move on without end, if it’s just now not profitable,” he told Total Film in an interview, mentioned Deadline.

“We’re in a distinctive world now than we had been once I wrote these items, even. It’s the one-two punch – the pandemic and streaming. Or, conversely, maybe we will remind people what going to the theatre is all about. This movie surely does that. The query is: what number of people give a shit now?” Cameron brought.

The filmmaker had expressed doubt about directing the fourth and 5th installments as he has other projects he is inquisitive about.

“The Avatar movies themselves are a form of all-consuming. I’ve got some different things I’m developing as properly, which can be thrilling. I suppose sooner or later, over time – I do not know if it is after three or four – I’ll want to skip the baton to a director that I believe in taking over, so I can go do a little different stuff I’m also interested in. Or perhaps not. I do not know,” Cameron informed Empire, as in step with Deadline.

‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ stars Zoe Saldana, Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Cliff Curtis, Joel David Moore, CCH Pounder, Edie Falco, Jemaine Clement, and Kate Winslet.

A sequel to Award-winning 2009 epic adventure ‘Avatar,’ which was launched in theatres 13 years ago, the script comes from Cameron and Josh Friedman. It will hit theatres globally on December 16, 2022.
