Kolhapur, Aug 14: District Guardian Minister Satej Patil on Saturday said that the local administration will prepare an action plan to avoid the repeat of floods in the district in future.
After a visit to flood affected areas of Karveer and Hatkanangale tehsils in the district, he said that the state government was trying to resolve difficulties of flood-affected people but at present the government’s first priority is to complete ‘panchanama’ of damages caused by recent floods and also to permanently rehabilitate the affected people, he informed.
Mr Patil said that the action plan would be prepared by taking into account various remidial measures such as fixing of flood line, widening of riverbeds, removal of encroachments alongside river bank and others to avoid repeat of severe floods in the district in future.
